Edge AI · Data sovereignty · Applied

Turn a physical space into facts you can search — without the raw data ever leaving it.

Physics builds capture pipelines that watch a real place, run the models at the edge, and keep a private, searchable record of what's there and what changed — while the footage and sensor data stay on your own hardware. It's running live in the field right now.

What I build

Four layers, one discipline.

I work end-to-end — from the camera on the wall to the agent answering a question about it — with data governance and network security holding it together.

Edge capture

Sensing that thinks on-site

Cameras, mics, phones and field nodes running models at the edge — vision (Qwen2.5-VL, V-JEPA2, YOLO) and speech (Parakeet) on Pis, Jetsons and micro-nodes. The device decides what matters, so only the facts travel.

Sovereign store

A private record of your world

Searchable, shareable facts in a vector store you control. Raw footage stays on your hardware; the store holds the meaning — queryable, portable, and yours. You decide who sees which facts.

Agents & tooling

Ask your environment questions

LLM agents (Claude) reach the store through typed tools — answering, predicting and scoping from the facts alone. Third parties get scoped, agreed access to answers, never the raw.

Security & governance

Off-site, but logically yours

A private overlay mesh (no open ports, no public internet), consent-based access, and continuous monitoring. Even a rented server becomes a node on your own network.

Live in the field
The proof project

Gizza Gawk

The whole pipeline, doing a real job. A homeowner films a problem on their phone — a leak, a crack, a dodgy bit — and gets back a plain-English read on what it is, how big a deal it is, and which trades they actually need. No site visit, and their video never leaves the private store.

It's the same four layers above, shipped and working — not a slide deck.

How it works

Raw data stays put. Only the facts move.

The design principle behind every build: capture and compute happen on your hardware, the meaning lives in a store you own, and only agreed facts ever cross a boundary.

Got a space that should be legible?

Physics is the practice of David, an engineer working across edge AI, data governance and network security. If you've got a place, a fleet or a process you'd like to make searchable — without handing over the raw — let's talk.
